Louisa Flynn, a student on the online MA Creative Writing at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB), has had her poem Two Futures chosen as Poem of the Month for October by the Extinction Rebellion Rebel Library. The poem is published in the library's October 2026 edition.

Two Paths For A Warming World

Two Futures sets societal breakdown against collective ecological revival and splits its story across two paths. Part I pictures a fractured world shaped by climate inequality, where luxury pods hover above rising oceans while displaced people shelter below.

Part II imagines a turning point of unity, with communities pulling together through renewable energy systems and a shared, heartbeat-like rhythm of restoration.

Wellbeing, Identity And Climate

Flynn is an emerging writer whose work centers on wellbeing, identity and socio-political climate activism. She is now developing a wider collection of poems on the same themes, combining her creative practice with environmental advocacy.

Louisa Flynn said:

"My aim through poetry is to explore the deep intersections between holistic wellbeing and climate breakdown. By examining both our fears and our capacity for collective action, I hope to foster empathy, understanding, and a renewed sense of connection to our planet and each other."

AUB says the selection shows the part that creative voices from its community play in shaping conversations about sustainability and the environment.
