Chandigarh University brought about 150 teams from institutions across India to its CEO Under Fire X corporate crisis championship. The University School of Business event put management students in simulated high-stakes business emergencies. Teams progressed from an opening round to a 50-team campus round, followed by a 10-team final. Indira Global School of Business Pune’s Boardroom Wizards won first place.
Crisis Competition Results
The championship included teams from Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, and other parts of the country. Participating institutions included Amity University, Bennett University, Thapar Institute, Graphic Era University, Rayat Bahra University, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Panipat Institute of Engineering & Technology, and the University of Jammu.
In the second round, the top 50 teams took stakeholder roles including investors, board members, regulators, and business partners. The 10 finalists responded to live corporate crisis situations and defended their decisions before judges.
Amity University’s Business Mavericks finished second, while Chandigarh University’s Titans placed third.
AI And Business Discussions
The event also included CXO Summit 2026, with founders, CEOs, co-founders, and managing directors discussing leadership, digital innovation, and business outcomes. The University School of Business launched AURA, its Center for AI-Driven Universal Business Re-engineering & Analytics, and a professional skill certification program, Generative and Agentic AI for Business Applications, with Grant Thornton.
Sham Kumar, Co-Founder & COO at Aerial Telecom Solutions, said:
“AI will affect mundane jobs, so adding AI as a skill set can also create jobs. Anyone not accepting AI may find it difficult but somebody who adds AI as a skill set to his knowledge base can definitely prosper and do better jobs. This applies both to organisations and individuals.”
Practical Business Learning
The competition was designed to test critical thinking, strategic decision-making, problem solving, collaboration, leadership, and business communication under pressure.
Prof (Dr) Satbir Singh Sehgal, Vice-Chancellor at Chandigarh University, said:
“Chandigarh University integrates experiential learning through hands-on workshops, industry collaborations, and real-world projects which bridge the gap between theory and practice. In line with this, 'CEO Under Fire X', India's First Corporate Crisis Championship, is an excellent opportunity for management students to hone their leadership skills and put to practice all the classroom learning. I am sure the hands-on learning experience gained during this championship will equip students with applicable insights and practical skills for navigating critical moments during a real-world corporate crisis.”
