A&M San Antonio Sets First Year Enrollment Record
Texas A&M University-San Antonio enrollment reached 7,697 students in Fall 2026, including a record 1,322 first-time-in-college students.

Texas A&M University-San Antonio enrolled a record 1,322 first-time-in-college students for Fall 2026, up from 1,281 a year earlier. Total enrollment reached 7,697 students, while enrolled students generated 86,118 credit hours, up from 84,568 in Fall 2025. Seventy-five percent of students come from Bexar County and 98.6% come from Texas. Students also represent 25 other states and Puerto Rico.
First Year Enrollment Growth
About two-thirds of undergraduate students are the first in their families to attend college. The university reported that 60% of undergraduate students this semester are eligible for Pell Grants.

As our University continues to grow, we remain focused on creating opportunities for students to achieve their educational goals while preparing them to contribute to the economic and civic vitality of our region and state.”
Support for Students
The university provides support through the Jaguar Promise, which helps eligible Texas students cover tuition and fees and provides a book stipend. The number of first-year students receiving the scholarship increased 21% from last year.

Texas A&M University-San Antonio welcomed its new and returning students this fall.
The university also reported that military-affiliated students account for 16% of undergraduates and 19% of graduate students. Its support serves veterans, active-duty service members and military-connected families.
New Programs and Facilities
This semester, A&M-San Antonio introduced a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. The university plans to launch a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences next fall and continues to open new academic and athletic facilities.
